I was too busy to practice” (a universal teacher moment!), summers in Las Vegas, spiders and cockroaches — really, any unexpected visitors.

Favorite Accomplishments

Building Musicality Schools to serve 100+ students, creating a caring studio culture rooted in connection and growth, writing my first book, The Group Teaching Blueprint, mentoring educators worldwide, meaningful outreach through music and service, and being “Ms. Marie” to so many wonderful students… and now “Grandma Marie,” too 💛

Fun Memory

Roomful of Pianos for Make Music Day — 99 students on 50 pianos performing ensembles together, a powerful reminder of what a music community can create. 🎹✨

Studio systems, music-teaching tools and technology, and how intentional community strengthens students, teachers, and our profession.

Currently…

• I teach 96 students, ages 3-18, in 45 minute weekly group classes inside our local Steinway dealer, Southern Nevada Music.

• Between classes, I develop new posts and products for GroupIlluminatED, write for the MTNA Business Digest, and serve in multiple MTNA roles.

• Married to engineer husband and Las Vegas native for almost 40 years. We enjoy Sunday dinners, stargazing, and traveling with our family. There’s nothing better than being Grandpa and Grandma to our two precious granddaughters and we feel pretty blessed to have our entire family in Las Vegas.
